The 600CCA PowerStart® PS16000 starter battery is a very lightweight and compact product. It uses high-performance cells with Lithium Iron Phosphate Life (LiFePO4) delivering extreme powers. This battery delivers very strong currents to easily start internal combustion engines.

Direct replacement of the lead-acid battery

The PowerStart® PS16000 Lithium 12V starter battery has been designed to replace Lead Starter batteries. It is used for competition vehicles and applications requiring very high currents. Unlike lead-acid batteries, the voltage of the PowerStart® battery drops slightly during start-up. This delivers constant power to the starter motor.
The PS16000 600CCA battery has a large storage capacity of 16Ah unlike the lithium starter batteries on the market. Because of the high starting energy requirement, the more energy you will have in the battery, the less deeply you will discharge the cells. This will ensure that your PS16000 (600CCA) starter battery will last a long time.

The Battery Management Systems (BMS) constantly monitors and balances the cells of the PS16000-600CCA Lithium Starter Battery. This is ideal to protect the battery and preserve its lifespan.

The PowerStart® PS16000 is protected by a waterproof ABS case. It is designed to be water and dust resistant (IP56 protection class).

Lithium 600CCA 12V starter battery more environmentally friendly

PowerStart® products are lightweight, high-performance and more environmentally friendly than lead acid batteries. These batteries directly replace older generation batteries which are not very efficient and harmful to the environment. In particular, they are harmful due to the use of heavy metals and the difficulty of recycling them (VRLA Lead batteries, AGM, etc.).

Does my PowerStart battery will fit with my vehicle alternator ?

Alternator are usually regulated and provide a voltage between 14.2V and 14.8v when operating.
PowerStart battery has a built-in BMS that is able to limit charge current when voltage is greater than 14.4V : unlike conventional Lithium starter batteries, the BMS does not immediately cut-off charge as soon battery is reaching maximum voltage, but it will decrease incoming current using a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) device until battery is totally charged and balanced.

This innovative BMS system allow full protection and charge, even if alternator is not properly regulated or if it delivers a voltage greater than battery max charge voltage.

How safe are Lithium-Ion PowerStart batteries ?

PowerStart batteries are using Lithium Iron Phosphate chemistry (LFP) that is one of the most safe Lithium-Ion technology. This chemistry is not subject to thermal-runaway, is non-flammable and is considered as non-hazardous by international regulation standards.

What can i use PowerStart battery for ?

PowerStart batteries are designed to start Internal Combustion Engines or to run application that needs high level of Power for a short time.

PowerStart are commonly used for Motorbikes, scooters, Quads, Jet-ski, snowmobile, but also for microlight, LSA and private aircraft starter batteries.

After removing your old batteries, place PowerStart battery in the same way. You may use the same cables to reconnect PowerStart battery.

How long does a PowerStart battery last ?

What is the Battery Management System (BMS) and how does it work ?

Each PowerStart embeds a built-in BMS. This BMS is a high-tech design that manage two main aspects of battery during operation :

      Great! Just one point regarding Rotax engine : stock regulator could face some issues (not for everyone) : in case stock Rotax regulator voltage is greater than 14.4V, then battery can swith off during flight. please call us if you have a Rotax engine with stock regulator.
      In many cases, only PowerStart 16000 is able to manage such case because it has been designed for aircraft operation.
      Please ask us what is the best option for starting your aircraft engine. Some people faced power shutdown during flight because of wrong configuration with lithium start battery.
